Prepare the session

Before using Bounce Project or Section, Export Tracks as Audio Files and stems, check the start and end markers, mute states, automation, missing files, track names and master level. In Logic Pro, the export is only as clean as the session organisation.

Export the right versions

Create a full mix, instrumental if relevant, acapella if relevant, and grouped stems for drums, bass, music, vocals and FX. For collaboration, grouped stems are often more useful than 80 individual tracks.

Leave sensible headroom

For a mix handoff, avoid clipping and leave room for mastering. For a rough master, use limiting carefully and keep an unlimited mix version. Label files with artist, track, version, BPM, key and date.

Do the real-world check

Listen away from Logic Pro. Use earbuds, phone speaker, laptop, car and monitors if possible. Write the smallest list of fixes that would make the export better, then return to the DAW and solve those before making another bounce.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Exporting with hidden muted tracks, wrong loop braces or messy file names.
  • Sending only individual tracks when a collaborator asked for grouped stems.
  • Replacing the clean mix with a loud rough master and losing headroom.

The repeat pattern is simple: keep the session readable, make the musical decision first, then add processing only when it solves a named problem.

Export a full mix, instrumental and five grouped stems from Logic Pro. Put them in one folder with BPM, key and date in the names.
