Start with drums, bass and one hook. That is enough to know whether the idea has a reason to exist. In Logic Pro, use the Tracks Area for speed, but avoid adding support layers before the core groove works. If the loop needs ten tracks to feel exciting, the main idea probably needs improving.
Move the idea into the Tracks Area and Arrangement Markers early. Create rough sections for intro, first main section, breakdown, build, second main section and outro. Duplicate the loop across the timeline, then remove parts for contrast. This is faster than trying to invent a whole arrangement from silence.
Variation does not need to be dramatic. Remove the kick, filter the hook, mute percussion, add a fill, shorten the bass, change the reverb send or print one transition. Logic Pro gives you enough automation and editing tools to make movement without burying the listener in new ideas.
Once the arrangement reaches the end, export a rough version before doing detailed mix work. Listen on headphones, car speakers, phone speaker and monitors if possible. Write three notes only: one arrangement fix, one mix fix and one energy fix. Then go back into Logic Pro and solve those first.
