Choose whether the 808 or kick owns the sub. Tune the 808, shape the envelope and use sidechain only if rhythm alone does not clear space.
Vocal front
The lead vocal should feel close without scraping. Fix level, low-mid boxiness and harshness before adding more effects.
Drum punch
Keep snares and claps present in the midrange. If they only hit when loud, the transient or sample choice needs work.
